fischertechnik is an international Gold Partner of the WRO 2024/2025
Competitions are a particularly exciting opportunity for children and young people to develop their future skills. School teams aged 8-19 from over 90 countries take part in the global robotics competitions of the World Robot Olympiad. The teams choose one of the four competition categories, work together on a robotics / STEM task for the respective season and then compete against other teams at local, national and international events.
On student learning in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields
Robotics competitions are gaining more and more attention worldwide from participants, volunteers and sponsors. This is for good reason, as robotics competitions offer great added value for participants. In addition to STEM skills, children and young people develop essential emotional and social skills while working together as a team to overcome exciting challenges.
together as a team.

fischertechnik in competition
How can fischertechnik be used in the competition in the respective WRO categories?
Future Engineers
Participants can use all fischertechnik parts for their autonomous driving vehicles. fischertechnik has also designed the STEM Coding Competition specifically for building and programming an autonomous driving robot car to successfully complete a course. The kit for an individual chassis contains the powerful TXT 4.0 controller, three ultrasonic sensors, a powerful encoder motor, a camera, a differential gear, a steering knuckle with servo motor as well as a battery and a power supply unit. The set is ideal for taking part in robotics competitions such as the WRO.
In the 2024 season, fischertechnik is no longer permitted in the Robo Mission, as only robots from another manufacturer may be used.
Robo Sports
fischertechnik can be used in this category with an Omniwheels base chassis to move in any direction. You can also use a fischertechnik shield to seamlessly integrate hardware with Arduino UNO or MEGA circuitry. There are 3D print templates for Arduino housings
Future Innovators
Participants can use any fischertechnik parts for their projects. In 2024, teams are challenged to develop a robot project that helps solve real-world problems, with reference to the current theme of the season: “Earth Allies”.
